In our family, squares were males,

females were circles, and slashes,

death. These words carry the change.

In the literature on family, nothing

is as cross-grained as the occurrence

of the mutant, whose images influence

a swarm of forms that do not grow

in pastoral pastures. Some confusion

in the records makes it impossible

to say for sure, but even so I think

about the bias of colonial men growing

rank in the Arcadian lowlands, and who

intellectualize in terms of old forms.

Don’t ask me how I knew it, but I did

not doubt the times of entry, and knew

every one is assigned a different stream

at different times. I write semiotic

textiles of separation about the mean

age of the phobic patterns of families, how

they don’t know much about themselves,

how they’re reluctant to accept help,

and how new forms arise.
